IFA Union says Lewis is shunning complaints

The IFA Defence Union says Treasury minister Ivan Lewis has ignored their complaints against the FSA despite having challenged the industry to come forward with grievances.

In an interview with Money Marketing in September, Treasury Economic Secretary Lewis challenged the industry to come up with tangible grievances against the FSA rather than “general whinges”. IFADU chief Evan Owen says many of his members have made detailed submissions to the Treasury outlining ways they feel let down by regulation and most have had no response.

He says: “Lewis did not have the courtesy to comment on the evidence that we supplied in good faith.”

A Treasury spokesman says: “All correspondence is considered very carefully.”
