IFA mortgage sales fall

The number of mortgages sold by financial advisers fell by


five per cent in the last quarter according Paragon Mortgages.


The level of confidence also fell from 109.7 in Quarter 2 to 106 in the


third quarter.


The fall in the mortgage market in the summer quarter comes after a


spring surge.


At 51 per cent, discount mortgages are still the most popular mortgage


by interest type, although fixed and capped-rate mortgages between them


have maintained a 39 per cent market share. Capital and Interest mortgages


have gained ground, accounting for 54 per cent of the


market.
