IFA chief Childs quits F&C after 20 years

F&C head of UK IFA operations Philip Childs has left the firm after 20 years&#39 service.

UK sales director Jamie Farquhar is taking interim responsibility for IFA relations, reporting to new head of retail business Laurence Llewellyn.

Childs has been largely responsible for a major expansion by F&C in the retail market. Up to 10 products are expected to be launched over the next years, with two on the market – Blue and With Prospects.

Llewellyn joins this week from Citigroup, where he has spent nearly 30 years working in senior executive roles.

F&C chief executive Robert Jenkins says: “F&C is determined to move forward in this market and has strengthened the team with Lawrence Llewellyn.”

Bates Investment Services senior investment adviser Kerry Nelson says: “It will be a great loss to them because Childs has been there for so many years. Anyone would miss an individual with the experience and connections he has, especially in this environment where relationships are important.”
