Defaqto has recruited former IFA Centre managing director Gill Cardy as insight consultant (wealth).
Cardy, who also founded Professional Partnerships after starting her career as an adviser almost two decades ago, will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and managing consultancy projects at the financial products research firm.
She says: “I had been using Defaqto’s products and services since my first days as an IFA nearly 20 years ago. During this time there have been many changes in our industry, and Defaqto’s technology, quality of data and range of services have consistently led the way for advisers.
“Now I am privileged to be joining Defaqto’s consultancy team and I look forward to helping financial advisers and planners as well as providers and all their clients make better financial decisions.”
Cardy formed the IFA Centre in September 2011 as a rival trade body to Aifa, now called Apfa.
However, the IFA Centre announced it would cease to operate as a trade body in December 2013 after failing to secure enough members.
