IFA academy launches

MLP Private Finance has launched a dedicated training academy for young graduates seeking careers as independent financial advisers.

It will be attended by newly recruited graduates and will provide financial advisory training. It will also provide structured training programmes for existing sales personnel and executive consultants.

The graduate training academy will run in association with the Sir John Cass Business School.

Managing director Frank Mesterharm says: “At the moment there is no real training programme for graduates in the IFA sector. As a result, the industry must implement the same high standard of qualifications as financial professions like banking and accountancy. At MLP Private Finance we recognise that young, ambitious graduates expect continuous professional and personal development and without structured training the sector will fail to attract the talent that it needs to flourish. The issue of graduate entry into the IFA industry is critical at this time, and we believe that our academy will provide a highly effective solution.”
