The financial concierge service, If I Were You, launched by former Egg chief Paul Gratton and ex-Virgin Money boss Rob Clifford, is linking up with Towergate Financial Services for independent financial advice.
If I Were You has already joined with MoneyQuest for mortgage advice and has just launched a protection advice offering delivered through Contact Insurance. It will refer IFA business to Towergate from the summer. It is understood to be in talks with AllMyPlans.com about offering its platform service as part of If I Were You.
Gratton and Clifford laun-ched If I Were You before Christmas as a membership service providing guidance on unregulated products or putting clients in touch with brokers or advisers for regulated products.
Gratton says: “If I Were You is a place where members can organise their existing finances and visually plan for their financial future.
“Getting regulated advice is just one component of our innovative service. That said, it is a essential one to get right one.”
Clifford adds: “Our brand promise is that if we would not recommend it to our best friend, we will not recommend it to anyone.
“We are appointing business partners who are personally known to us and in whom we place our trust.”
