HSBC pays 45k for TCF chief

HSBC is recruiting a treating customers fairly manager on a salary of up to 45,000 plus benefits.

The job is based in the firm’s Canary Wharf office in London’s Docklands with the aim of embedding the FSA’s TCF initiative across the bank’s business. The manager will be involved in strategy, sales, advice, product design and financial promotions.

Anand Associates managing director Bhupinder Anand says: “This should be something that is an inherent part of a business anyway. Why would you recruit for a TCF manager unless you felt you needed to fill in gaps? It is almost as if they are putting their hands up and saying, we are guilty.”

Informed Choice managing director Nick Bamford says: “This seems to be the route that I would imagine the bigger firms will take to demonstrate to the FSA they are taking TCF seriously. But if they were taking TCF seriously they would be recruiting at a much more senior level and paying more.”
