HSBC Asset Management appoints new chief executive

HSBC Asset Management (Europe) has appointed Dean Buckley as chief executive of its UK business effective immediately.

Buckley has been acting chief executive officer since July 2001, in addition to his responsibilities as chief investment officer for Pan European and UK equities, a position he has held since joining HSBC in 1995.

His investment management role will be assumed by Philippe Alter, currently chief investment officer of HSBC&#39s fund management subsidiary in Paris.
