House prices continue to soar

House prices are 13.3 per cent higher than they were this time last year, according to latest research by Nationwide Building Society.


The rise is the fastest annual rate increase since the 1980s housing boom.


Figures show prices across the country rose 1.9 per cent in November. The average price of a house is now £74,954.
