Hornbuckle Mitchell has recruited Pointon York Sipp Solutions managing director Jo French as the pensions administrator looks to drive improvements in its customer service.
French will join the firm in Q3 this year as managing director of operations and client experience.
She will report to newly appointed managing director of infrastructure Bob Adams, who joins Hornbuckle from UBS Global Asset Management where he was global chief information officer.
Sales and marketing director Mary Stewart has also left Hornbuckle after private investors Phil Smith and Richard Wohanka bought a 60 per cent stake in the company in April. Stewart will not be replaced.
Smith, who is now Hornbuckle Mitchell chief executive, says: “There are two areas where Hornbuckle has invested money but ultimately is not as strong as it should be.
“The first is client experience and that is something we want to improve so we become the very best in the industry. The second is technology because we need the right kit to deal with volume in an economically sensible way.
“We wanted to strengthen the senior management team to deliver those two aims and in Jo and Bob we have the right people to do that.”
Radcliffe & Newlands chartered financial planner Mel Kenny says: “Hornbuckle has a very strong brand that needs to be brought to life in today’s challenging environment for assets.”
