Nicola Horlick, chief of Bramdean Asset Management, will chair a newly-launched private equity investing business, Rockpool Investments.
The business will be managed by Gary Robins, former founder of investor network Hotbed, and Matt Taylor, ex-senior partner at Foresight Group.
Rockpool will allow individuals to invest on a deal-by-deal basis, with a minimum investment per deal of £25,000.
Horlick says: “It will provide investors with the opportunity to make money at the same time as helping ambitious companies grow faster.
“SMEs are the lifeblood of the UK’s economy and the key to unlocking future growth, but it has become notoriously difficult for them to obtain growth finance from traditional sources.”
She adds: “Rockpool will add an important new impetus to our SME sector whilst at the same time providing investors with ready access to top class, highly tax-efficient private equity opportunities.”
