Hometrack chief to head strategy at Pru

Prudential has recruited former Hometrack Data Services chief executive Simon Allen as chief operations officer.

Allen will help to develop and deliver Prudential’s strategy in the UK life and pension market.

Before working at Hometrack, Allen was at Capital One Bank for six years as vice-president of international operations and chief investment officer among other roles.

He previously held senior positions at First Data Resource, a processor of credit, debit and charge cards, Boston-based private equity fund GMM Investors and Bain & Company.

Prudential UK and Europe chief executive Nick Prettejohn says: “We have a unique set of assets and proven capabilities within our retail and wholesale businesses and we are clearly focused on the market for retirement savings and income.

“Simon brings a wealth of experience across business-to-business and business-to-consumer organisations and he will work with our strong team across the UK business to build on these core strengths.”

Allen says: “The business has many key competitive strengths and advantages and I am looking forward to helping deliver and implement its focused strategy in the retirement market.”
