Holdings of UK equities rise

The average UK Equity holdings of Pooled Mixed with Property funds rose by 2.6 percent in the first quarter of 1999 according to the CAPS pension fund survey.


The average amount of assets held in UK equities at the end of the period was 56.9 per cent, up from a 10 year low of 54.2 per cent last quarter.


The increase across all funds bar one came as managers reduced their cash allocation for the second quarter in succession. Cash holdings were down to 5.9 per cent, just slightly above the five year average of 5.7 per cent.
