Hitachi makes debut with Asu

Hitachi Capital Insurance Europe has entered the adviser market in a partnership deal with Webline to offer the portal’s users a new Asu product.

HCIE head of business development and marketing Peter Leonard says Webline’s 15,000 users offer an ideal opportunity to break into the market.

But he does not rule out deals with other portals to expand the reach of the product.

The payment protection provider insures more than 250,000 customers and deals with around 15,000 claims a year.

Three types of Asu product will be offered to Webline users to protect mortgage repayments.

Leonard says: “The partnership will help increase sales for online mortgage brokers and IFAs, particularly in the first-time buyer market.”

Webline managing director Paul Holland says: “The emergence of HCIE into the ASU market indicates a massive challenge to other PPI and MPPI players, particularly given HCIE’s ability to finance an aggressive pricing strategy.”
