Higgins to head HBOS mortgages

HBOS has appointed Joe Higgins as its new head of mortgages to work alongside intermediaries boss Nigel Stockton.

Higgins is presently Bank of Scotland (Ireland) chief operating officer. He will be primarily responsible for products across the direct and intermediary channels.

Former Royal Bank of Scotland executive Louis Kaszczak has joined Lehman Brothers’ expanding mortgage business as intermediary business development executive. Kaszczak, who quit as head of corporate distribution at RBS Intermediary Partners last October, will work across Lehman’s three mortgage brands.

He says: “With the specialist market continuing to grow and all three brands performing well, there is a great opportunity to expand in the direct-to-broker channel.”

Pink Home Loans has replaced managing director Tony Jones, who quit to work closer to his family in Gloucestershire, with Mutual One MD Barry Meeks. He takes up his fourth MD role at a Skipton Building Society subsidiary, having previously also been in charge at HML and Amber Credit.
