Higginbotham quits Schroders for Fidelity

Robert Higginbotham is leaving Schroders to join rival Fidelity as its European mutual funds president.

Higginbotham has been at Schroders for six years and was global head of product. He starts in his new role on April 2 next year and will also join Fidelity’s global operating committee.

Higginbotham previously spent nine years at Prudential and was a founder member of the ABI’s investment classification group.

Fidelity International vice-chairman Barry Bateman says: “Robert is highly qualified for this role due to his extensive experience of the mutual funds and insurance businesses in UK as well as Europe. He has the skills and strategic vision to enable us to react quickly to the changing environment for mutual funds in Europe.”
