Henderson’s Bill McQuaker gives up equity chief role

Graham Kitchen has taken over from Bill McQuaker as the head of equities at Henderson.

McQuaker will remain as the deputy head of equities but has stepped down to focus more on his fund management responsibilities.

McQuaker says his primary responsibility has always been to his clients and that may be affected by the proposed acquisition of Gartmore, and the increased workload it will bring.

However, Kitchen will be able to continue managing three other funds for Henderson in addition to the head of equities role, based on his specific experience in this area.

Kitchen’s working relationship with co-manager Andy Jones has also been cited as a reason for Kitchen maintaining both roles.

This is based on the 13 years the two have worked together as co-managers.

McQuaker will continue to review Henderson’s equity investments as part of his new role.
