Henderson nabs from SLI on global equities team

Henderson Global Investors has nabbed Steve Weeple from Standard Life Investments, to become part of its global growth equities team as portfolio manager.

led by Ian Warmerdam. The team is based in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Steve joins as a portfolio manager.

He was previously director of equity research and head of US equities at SLI.

Weeple will report to Ian Warmerdam, who says the addition “fills out our team”.

“Making such a senior hire speaks to the high regard in which Henderson and the global growth team are held.”

Warmerdam adds that he has “long-admired” Weeple, who he has known for many years.

Weeple says he has been impressed with Henderson’s global team and believes in their fundamental bottom up approach.

“An added incentive to join is the opportunity to work closely with Glen Finegan and his successful global emerging markets equities team. Both Edinburgh based teams work closely with one another in analysing global investment opportunities and employ similar investment values,” Weeple says.
