Henderson Global Investors has appointed former Threadneedle vice chairman and chief investment officer Sarah Arkle to the board as a non-executive director.
Arkle (pictured) joined Allied Dunbar Asset Management in 1983, which later became Threadneedle in the early 1990s, and held several senior roles.
Until the end of July she was vice chairman of the asset manager and was previously chief investment officer until 2010, a role she held for a decade.
Arkle’s appointment is subject to approval from the FSA. She is also currently a non-executive director of Foreign & Colonial investment trust.
Henderson chairman Rupert Pennant-Rea says: “Her years of asset management experience as a fund manager, chief investment officer and, more recently, as vice chairman of Threadneedle, make her a welcome addition to the board.”
