Henderson has appointed Armstrong Investment Managers co-manager James de Bunsen to its multi-asset team.
De Bunsen had been at Armstrong IM for the past two and a half years where he was portfolio manager of its IM Distinction Real Return fund.
De Bunsen will be responsible for specific client portfolios as well as adding to the investment expertise of the team.
Henderson says the 11 strong multi-asset team, currently manages £5.7bn of assets, will be added to in the New Year.
De Bunsen’s appointment comes only a week after Henderson announced that director of multi-asset Tony Lanning was leaving the firm in January 2013 to join JPMorgan Asset Management to run its new multi-manager venture.
Henderson director of multi-asset Bill McQuaker says: “Multi-asset is an important part of our business and we have long had plans in place to increase the resources and size of the team to support our ambitions. As multi-asset investment strategies are increasingly demanded by our clients it is important that we have the strength of talent in our team to provide the best possible investment and service to investors. To have James on board is an important step in expanding our multi-asset capability.”
