Heath-Lay to take over at B&CE as Griffiths retires

B&CE chief executive Brian Griffiths is retiring in September and will be replaced by director of finance and strategic delivery Patrick Heath-Lay.

Chairman Sir John Chilcot says: “Brian has led B&CE for the past 10 years through challenging times within the financial services industry.

“We have appointed a successor to the role of chief executive to enable a smooth transition, ensuring momentum for the business is maintained at this crucial time, together with management continuity.”

B&CE recently launched its auto-enrolment proposition, The People’s Pension, to challenge Nest. B&CE had previously only provided pensions to people who worked in the construction industry.

Heath-Lay says: “It is an honour to take on the chief executive role. There are interesting times and, inevitably, further changes ahead both for B&CE and the pension industry and I am very much looking forward tackling those challenges.”
