HBOS maintains 21 per cent mortgage market share

HBOS maintained its mortgage market share of 21 per cent in 2006.

The UK’s largest mortgage lender saw gross advances up from £60.6bn in 2005 to £73.6bn last year, representing a 21 per cent increase, which was slightly above the market average.

The group also saw underlying profit before tax up 19 per cent to £5.7bn.
