Has Hartford anything else to say?

Readers may recall the exchange last autumn between Harry Katz and Hartford Life’s Michael Rudge on the subject of those high-commission-paying variable annuities that had already earned themselves a bad name in the US.

“Mr Katz wonders how well the ‘American providers’ have fared,” retorted Mr Rudge on October 16. “I cannot speak for the other firms but we have been extremely pleased with our progress since we came to the UK in 2005, not only in sales…but also in the awards we have won for product innovation and service from IFAs who have welcomed what we bring to the market.”

This discussion then went quiet. Before he switches the lights off, has Mr Rudge got anything he would like to add?

IFAP rejects tarnish claim
