Harris will replace Bill McQuaker as manager of the team of eight, with McQuaker to continue as head of equities. Harris joined Henderson following the acquisition of New Star Asset Management earlier this year.
McQuaker will continue to run the £194.3m Henderson income and growth, £30.6m distribution and £91m growth funds within the multi-manager range.
Harris says: “I will continue to work closely with Bill on the fund research and strategic development side of things.”
Henderson says the multi-manager team will also now include Paul Craig, who runs the Cirilium cautious, moderate and dynamic funds. The £114m range was launched last year as part of a joint venture with Intrinsic and the group merged its adventurous portfolio with dynamic in the summer.
The addition brings the total multi-manager range between Henderson and New Star to 13. The group says it will look at potential mergers once both groups are placed on the same admin platform early next year.
