Hargreaves Lansdown founders set for £40m dividend

Hargreaves Lansdown founders Peter Hargreaves and Stephen Lansdown are set to receive £40m in dividend payments as the company gets set to unveil its year end results this week.

According to the The Sunday Times, analysts are expecting the FTSE 100 firm to announce a final dividend of 16p a share. This will mean Stephen Lansdown will receive £15.3m for his 20 per cent stake in the company, while Peter Hargreaves, who owns 32 per cent, is set to receive £24m.

The pair, who founded the Bristol-based business in 1981, have already received £12.6m this year from the company’s interim dividend payout.

Hargreaves Lansdown now has over 400,000 clients and manages around £26bn in investor assets.
