Hargreaves Lansdown appoints Ian Gorham as chief operating officer

Hargreaves Lansdown has announced the appointment of Ian Gorham as chief operating officer.

Gorham is one of three appointments to the group’s executive committee, which he will join from September 1, 2009.

He joins the firm from Grant Thornton where he is a partner and head of the firm’s Financial Services Group.

The group has also announced the appointment of Ian Hunter and Nick Marson to the executive committee from July 1, 2009.

Hunter will be appointed as investment marketing director while Marson will be appointed as Vantage and broking operations director.

Hargreaves Lansdown chief executive Peter Hargreaves says: “We believe that Ian will bring extensive business experience to the Group, and will advise and challenge executive management on all areas of operations. We are delighted that Ian has accepted the appointment and look forward to working with him.

“The appointment of Ian and Nick to the Executive Committee is well deserved. It is a great example of the strong internal talent developed at all levels within Hargreaves Lansdown.”
