Halifax moves to help brokers assist clients buying houses in Spain

Halifax Intemediaries has launched a new section on its website to help brokers assist clients buying properties in Spain.

The new web pages provide easy access to products and services from Banco Halifax Hispania, Halifax’s Spanish arm.

Brokers are also able to download application forms and access soft copy Agreements in Principle which can be issued via email. Mortgage application forms and supporting documentation will be accepted by fax.

All dealings between Banco Halifax Hispania and brokers can be carried out in English and its dedicated helpline will help guide brokers through the process.

Banco Halifax Hispania national intermediary sales manager Ian Andrews says: “There is growing demand for this service amongst the broker community. The number of people buying abroad has risen more than 60% from 129,000 in 2000/2001. 211,000 English households own a second home outside the UK, 34% of which are in Spain.”

Halifax Intermediaries head of sales Paul Chapman adds: “Everything we do is designed to make it easier for brokers to do business with us. The launch of our enhanced Banco Halifax Hispania is another step towards servicing all of the varying needs of our intermediary partners.”
