Half of MPs believe Government will encourage PMI

Half of all MPs believe that within the next 10 years the Government will have to encourage more people to make private healthcare provision according to a survey from PPP Healthcare.

When broken down, the numbers reveal 21 per cent of Labour MPs and 96 per cent of Conservatives believe the Government will move in the direction of greater private provision.

Twenty-four per cent of Government members said they are personally willing to use private care while 92 per cent of Tories say they would.

The survey asked 100 MPs representing all parties, 58 Labour, 26 Conservative and 16 of other parties.
