Hales joins Simply Biz advisory board

Former Chartered Insurance Institute president Peter Hales has joined the Simply Biz advisory board.

The board is designed to help oversee the strategic direction of the Simply Biz group.

The company says it approached Hales because of his vast experience of financial services, having been an executive director at Norwich Union and been involved with industry bodies such as the Association of British Insurers and the CII.

He is chairman of the CII’s faculty of life and pensions and is a non-executive director of Skipton Building Society and Just Retirement.

Hales joins former Skandia Investment Management and Tenet chairmen Jim Roberts and Barry Kayes, alongside Simply Biz chairman Ken Davy and managing director Ian Thorneycroft on the board.

Davy says: “Peter’s recent presidency of the CII saw the achievement of chartered status for financial advisers.”
