Guernsey-based Dresdner Private Banking has revamped its existing strategic investment fund

This is an open ended investment company (OEIC) fund of funds that invests in Dresdner funds that span a wide range of areas, from the FTSE 100 to North American companies to European and Japanese stocks. Designed for growth, the strategic investment fund is aimed at experienced investors.

Previously, day to day administration was carried out by Dresdener RCM, which also administers a wide variety of unit trusts, but this has now been taken over by Kleinwort Benson Guernsey Fund Services in order to open it up to more private investors.

This Oeic is part of a wide range of similar products thronging the market and despite the facelift, it offers little that makes it stand out from the rest.

According to Standard & Poor&#39s the Dresdner Private Bank strategic investment fund is ranked 41 out of 270 funds, based on £1,000 invested on a bid-to-bid basis with net income reinvested over three years to July 17, 2000.
