Green money is focus for Aifa seminar

The Association of Independent Financial Advisers is to host a seminar on ethical and green investment as part of National Ethical Investment Week.

The seminar, which is free for Aifa members, will take place in London on May 21 and will include a panel debate with representatives from Morley, Friends Provident and Henderson.

It will be held in conjunction with Henderson Global Investments and UKSIF and will cover the benefits of going green, investing in climate change and a panel debate on ethical and green investments plus a question and answer session and discussion.

Amanda Davidson, director of Baigrie Davies, and Aifa deputy chairperson, is the guest speaker for the seminar and will be presenting on the benefits of going green.

Aifa director general Chris Cummings says consumers are choosing to take a more ethical route and IFAs should embrace this opportunity. He says: “We recognise the importance of keeping members informed on current issues. Ethical investment is a very topical area and one in which many investors now have interests.”

Henderson Global Investors director of UK wholesale Alastair Barrie says: “We are delighted to host this event which will demonstrate to advisers that taking some straightforward, practical steps can easily make their businesses more environmentally efficient and also profitable.”
