Ghambir will run European hedge fund

Recent recruit Ajay Ghambir will run a European equity long/ short hedge fund for MPC Investors to be launched in September.

The Samsara fund will have a launch size of 300m-450m. It will follow the same strategy as the JP Morgan Europe dynamic long/short hedge fund which Ghambir ran as the sole portfolio manager before his move to MPC. Ghambir was managing director and head of the European high-alpha team at JP Morgan.

MPC Investors chief executive Peter Harrison says: “The launch of this fund is the next important step in the development of our business and reflects our determination to offer investors market-leading funds run by some of the industry’s most exceptional talent.”

Head of sales Dan Mannix says: “We have now begun to grow both sides of the business with Lee Manzi and Miles Geldard also launching long-only portfolios into the UK market.”
