Getting shirty

Well done to AIG for sending out Manchester United shirts to journalists to accompany a recent press release.

Not so well done however, for inability to research your audience beforehand.

Not only did one particular pension publication editor (and staunch Gooner) send back the following curt response to AIG’s press team, “Release received. Shirt burnt” but the press team missed an opportunity at Money Marketing, whose editorial team comprises three United fans, who would have been undoubtedly more appreciative.
