Gerardine Davies leaves Aegon

Aegon Asset Management has confirmed the departure of Gerardine Davies, director of property.

Davies joined Aegon in mid-2007 with Phil Clark and David Wise, all from Morley Fund Management, to help establish a property fund management business.

“She has made a significant contribution to the business and helped develop our successful property team”

At Morley, Davies was responsible for running the £4.2 billion Norwich Property Trust, now called the Aviva Investors Property Trust, after the two businesses merged.

Andrew Fleming, the head of European asset management at Aegon, says: “I would like to thank Gerardine for helping establish our property team with Phil and David when they arrived with us in October 2007. During that time she has made a significant contribution to the business and helped develop our successful property team. I would like to take this opportunity to wish her every success in her future career.”

Aegon does not plan to replace Davies, who resigned last month, and is uncertain whether she plans to continue her career within the fund management industry.

Her former responsibilities will be shared between Clark and Wise.
