Gaskin leaves Exchange after takeover

Exchange managing director Jim Gaskin is leaving the firm following its takeover by Marlborough Stirling and just a year after joining from Misys IFA Services.

The departure of the former Misys IFA Services chairman follows Marlborough Stirling&#39s £87m takeover of the portal which was rubber-stamped by shareholders on Friday.

Gaskin, will remain in the post until the end of the year when Sue Summers from Exchange FS&#39s Global Solutions will take over responsibility for IFA, network and provider relations.

Gaskin says: “My job was done. It is a perfectly amicable split. My role was to reposition the Exchange in the market place.

“We had lost our way with providers and IFAs and needed to take a lot of costs out of the business and reposition ourself as a business to business operation. I&#39ve done myself out of a job.”

Exchange FS chief executive Ges Whitmore says: “Jim said he had achieved the tasks he had set out to achieve. I wouldn&#39t say that he resigned or that we asked him to resign.”
