Gartmore chief Aldridge quits firm

Gartmore head of retail distribution Rod Aldridge has left after four years with the firm.

Aldridge joined in 2004 from Cofunds and alongside head of distribution Paul Feeney was instrumental in the group’s management buyout with Hellman & Friedman in 2006.

But the appointment of Cazenove’s Richard Pursglove as head of UK retail in January left Aldridge looking for an alternative role within the company. Pursglove officially started on Tuesday.

Feeney was placed in a similar position when Phil Wagstaff joined the firm from New Star last September as global head of distribution. He left last November.

Wagstaff says: “Rod made a significant contribution to the development of Gartmore, especially when we moved into private ownership through the MBO. We wish him well in his future career.”
