Gartmore appoints new chief executive

Gartmore Investment Management has appointed Glyn Jones,48, as chief executive.

Jones succeeds Paul Myners, who will focus on his role as chairman at Gartmore. Jones was chief executive at international private banking business Coutts until June 2000.

The fund manager has separately announced its director and head of global institutional division Sally Tennant has decided to leave the firm at the end of the year and will be taking a break from the City.
