Gartmore appoints ex-F&C manager Newman to UK team

Gartmore has appointed Luke Newman as portfolio manager to its UK team.

He joins on June 29 and will work with Ben Wallace on the Gartmore UK absolute return and AphaGen octanis funds.

His fund management experience with UK equity long only and long/short funds includes roles at Deutsche Asset Management, Foreign & Colonial and most recently, Altima Partners LLP.

Gartmore chief investment officer Dominic Rossi says: “Luke is a highly skilled long only and long/short manager and his experience is a perfect fit with Ben Wallace’s proven investment process.”
