Peter Blanc, chief executive of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co’s UK retail division, has left the business.
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co is the US parent of UK firm Gallagher Employee Benefits.
Blanc joined the firm in April when Gallagher Employee Benefits acquired his business, commercial insurance broker Oval, for £199m.
Arthur J. Gallagher International UK commercial director Janice Deakin will take over as UK retail chief executive with immediate effect.
Arthur J. Gallagher International chief executive David Ross says now is a “natural point” for Blanc to leave.
He says: “Peter and I agreed when we completed the Oval acquisition that our priorities for the first six months were to integrate the business into our existing retail operations and complete a review of the leadership structure, including his role.
“Phase one of that integration programme – bringing the people and businesses together – will be realised at the end of this month when we complete the rebrand of the entire retail business.
“This creates a natural point for Peter to hand over the reins to Janice, who has been instrumental in both the Giles and Oval acquisitions and has worked closely with Peter over the past six months to build the operational and strategic framework for our retail business, including a soon to be announced UK retail executive team.”
Blanc says: “My priority has always been to deliver the Oval business and its people to a new home with the right new ownership and working with David and Janice I have now achieved that.
“I wish them, and all my friends and colleagues at Arthur J Gallagher, every success as I look forward to the next chapter in my career.”
