Gallagher EB acquires employee communications firm Shilling

Employee benefits consultancy Arthur J Gallagher has announced the acquisition of employee communications firm Shilling for an undisclosed sum.

Shilling’s 33 employees will be absorbed into Gallagher’s existing 230 staff and remain in its Hampshire office.

The move comes less than a month after Gallagher, the US parent of UK firm Gallagher Employee Benefits, acquired insurance broker Oval.

Gallagher Employee Benefits UK chief executive Tim Johnson says: “Shilling’s team of communication consultants, designers and digital specialists helps companies achieve their business goals by providing strategic planning and creative employee benefit communication services.

“This acquisition will add significantly to the service offering provided to our expanding client portfolio, following on from the recent Oval acquisition, which saw both Oval Healthcare and Oval Financial Services added to our growing team of UK professionals.”

Shilling founder Kevin Shilling says: “We are delighted to be joining the Arthur J. Gallagher family and look forward to developing the Shilling business with AJG. This is a really exciting time for us as we are expanding our client base globally and increasing the breadth of the employee communication services we offer, and this strategic move will enhance our opportunities to expand further.”
