FTSE falls as volatile week continues

The FTSE 100 fell over 50 points this morning with Aviva and Prudential among the biggest fallers.

By 12.15pm, the index was down by 1.39 per cent to 3642.38.

Aviva was the biggest faller with its shares down 14.75 per cent to 182p, with Thomas Cook and Antofagasta also suffering losses in early trading. Prudential was also down 9 per cent to 235.50p.
