FTSE 100 static following heavy falls this week

The FTSE 100 was continuing to steer clear of the 3,500 barrier on Friday after a static morning of trading.

At 11.10am the blue-chip index stood at 3531.7, a nominal rise from its opening value of 0.05 per cent.

Biggest winners so far this morning included Lloyds Banking Group, WPP Group and Randgold Resources.

The biggest faller was Wolseley with a fall of over 10 per cent, while Aviva was also down 4 per cent having been central to the falls seen on Thursday after publishing its results.
