FSA warns consumers off hedge funds

The FSA is warning consumers off investing in Isas linked to hedge funds.

The FSA has issued a consumer alert on its website in which it describes hedge funds as &#39exotic financial products&#39, and warns consumers not to assume that a product is straightforward just because the provider&#39s name is familiar.

FSA director of consumer relations Christine Farnish says: “The more exotic Isas being offered can be difficult to understand, and the costs and charges may not be clear, so they may well not be appropriate for the majority of consumers.”
