FSA appoints John Sutherland as building societies adviser

The FSA has appointed former Stroud & Swindon chief executive John Sutherland as a senior adviser.

Sutherland has more than 36 years in retail banking and most recently as chief executive of Stroud & Swindon Building Society.

He will advise on the building society sector.

FSA chief executive Hector Sants says: “John brings to his role considerable experience of the retail banking sector which will be vital in our work in this area. Senior advisors are a core part of the FSA’s delivery of intensive supervision. The team provides experience on regulatory, market and consumer matters.”
