Friends Provident underwriting strategy manager Nicolette Bray is leaving to join Zurich.
She will take over as senior underwriting developer in September and will be responsible for enhancing Zurich’s underwriting approach for life and protection business. She will report to the firm’s UK life business’s underwriting and claims director Phil Brown.
Bray joined Friends in January 2005 and was instrumental in driving forward the use of electronic GP reports.
Friends spokesman Peter Timberlake says: “Nicky leaves Friends Provident’s underwriting department after three and a half years, during which she has contributed to a number of key projects, including the launch in 2007 of nurse tele-underwriting for income protection and the 2008 launch of our business protection plan. We wish her well for the future.”
Brown says: “Zurich is delighted to have someone of Nicky’s calibre joining our underwriting team and we look forward to welcoming her on board later this year.”
Elsewhere, Pioneer Friendly Society is in the final stages of recruiting a sales and marketing manager while Munich Re and Norwich Union are narrowing their searches for protection marketing managers although none of the firms will disclose their short lists.
