Free tax advice for Welsh local businesses

Free tax advice for local businesses will be available by Customs and Excise and the Inland Revenue at an open day sponsored by the Welsh Assembly.

Thursday February 24 sees a selection of public and private sector organisations congregating at the Welsh Conference Centre in Llandudno, at the latest in a series of open days offering business advice.

Representatives from the Office of Fair Trading, Healthy & Safety Executive, Patent Office and Learndirect will be hosting a range of seminars on subjects including VAT and importing and exporting.

Numerous subjects will be covered by the day, regardless of size or type of business. Entry to the conference and all seminars is free of charge, opening at 10.00.

(Another) downhill stroll — retirement planning

A report published this morning by the CIPD (CIPD Employee Outlook March 2015) provides yet more interesting data to the changing landscape of retirement planning. It should be remembered that we are in a period of genuine flux here given that the default retirement age was scrapped three years ago, and new pension freedoms come online in April. Both of these alterations will have a huge impact on how employees plan for their retirement.
