Franklin Templeton appoints head of European fixed income

Franklin Templeton Investments senior vice president and portfolio manager David Zahn has been promoted to head of European fixed income.

A member of Franklin Templeton’s fixed income policy committee, Zahn will retain his responsibilities as senior vice president and portfolio manager. As portfolio manager, Zahn oversees the Templeton Strategic Bond, Templeton Euro Government Bond and Templeton European Corporate Bond funds.

In his new role Zahn will be leading a new initiative to enhance the firm’s European fixed income capabilities. This initiative will include adding new local investment resources in Europe and leveraging the fixed income group’s global research platform.

Franklin Templeton managing director for Europe Jamie Hammond says: ”Under David’s leadership, we will focus on enhancing our European fixed income capabilities in order to address the significant opportunities in this market segment.

”European fixed income is an important asset class for both retail and institutional investors throughout the region and this initiative will give us a dedicated team on the ground to enhance the products and service we can offer clients.”

Prior to joining Franklin Templeton in 2006, Zahn was senior portfolio manager at Citigroup Asset Management, primarily working as portfolio manager in European fixed income.
