Fox quits Insight to run Co-op bond fund

Co-operative Asset Management has recruited former Insight Investment fund manager Daniel Fox to manage its £301m corporate bond income trust.

Fox’s appointment coincides with the launch of the trust to IFAs through Cofunds, Funds Network and Hargreaves Lansdown’s Vantage platform.

He joins from Insight where he specialised in managing corporate bond portfolios since 2002, after spending eight years with Sun Alliance managing government and corporate bonds.

The corporate bond income trust will join Co-op’s £185m sustainable leaders trust, £957m UK growth trust and £266m UK income with growth trust already on the IFA platforms.

Corporate bonds continue to prove popular among investors and were the UK retail sector of choice for the seventh consecutive month, with inflows of £717.9m, according to the Investment Management Association’s May statistics.

Co-operative Asset Management director Paul Sharman says: “Making the corporate bond available on fund platforms is part of our long-term strategy to build our proposition and investment expertise in the IFA market.

“Daniel has a proven track record in managing bonds and is another talented investment professional that we have added to our expanding team.”
