In its half-yearly results the subsidiary of Fortis Group recorded profits of £43.3m during 2008, up from £19m for the same period last year.
The strong growth is a result of the Group’s launch of Fortis Life UK and its multi-channel distribution capabilities, says Fortis UK chief executive Barry Smith.
Smith says: “In the face of the current market conditions, we have achieved strong performance in the first half of the year, while building the future of the company through innovative products and distribution width.
“Over recent months we have strengthened the Fortis depth of proposition to provide more choice for the customer, as evidenced by our entrance into the Life protection sector. I am excited by the launch of our innovative protection products and services and the opportunities to leverage our existing capabilities.”
