Former Skandia head Jim Roberts joins Insynergy

Insynergy has appointed former Skandia group investment director Jim Roberts to head its investment committee.

Roberts will also act as an adviser to the firm, which was founded by ex-Skandia colleague Spike Hughes and Dragons’ Den Star and entrepreneur James Caan in 2008.

Roberts has spent 35 years in the industry, including 26 years at Skandia. Roberts was also involved in setting up Skandia Investment Management in 2002, chairing the company at launch and seeing the business grow its asset to £5.5bn.

Insynergy CEO and founder Spike Hughes says: “A key part of Insynergy’s strategy is to build a team of seasoned professionals and Jim’s appointment amply demonstrates that strategy in action.”

Roberts says: “Recent events have made many people question the traditional asset manager model – so I think that Insynergy’s approach and philosophy is both compelling and timely. Becoming involved with the business at this stage of its development is very exciting.”
